Today's "STOP!" moment on our run was "ooo, hang on, that's a... surely not...is that a pink-footed goose?!". A lone pinkie, poddling along the Rochdale Canal with the mallards and Canadas, in May. I kid you not |

So, does anyone know how long Wood Pidgeon chicks stay in the nest before leaving? I had one nesting in my hedge for a few weeks and then it left abruptly last Friday - can't see any egg remnants in the nest, but there are a few fluffy feathers still around. |

fozzy….I'll guess at 12-14 days but was totally wrong. (shame). According to Google it's 33-34 days! Heck, that's a long time.

Great spots Kinky, um and Sharkie. Only a Lesser Whitethroat singing as a stand out songster amongst the many this morning. |
