Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch

Last night's run "Come on, it's late and we need to get home for tea OOO STOP LOOK SWIFTS!" "We really need to get moving AAAHHHHHH STOP SIX DUCKLINGS!" "Right, home time SQUEEEEE STOP TINY GOSLINGS!". And that was just the ornithological stops, we also have to stop and have a chat with Every Single Lamb :-)

That sounds lovely. :)

I think I'll go and see if I can count the cygnets later.

A perfect outing Kinks 😀

House Sparrow super noisy again today. Really, really noisy. It’s either a fledger or a male after a new partner. Swifts screaming overhead.

Today’s crying (as in 😢) at nature was at a magpie that was killing a fledgeling - dave thinks it was a starling. It had it pinned to the ground and was pecking at it while a starling squawked really loudly at it and tried to peck the magpie. I thought it was a blue tit, but I think Dave was able to watch for longer than me 😬 We were alerted by the noise the parents were making.

I know it’s ‘nature’ but still not nice to see.

Spotted on today's long run. I imagine not uncommon here, but this was a waterway outside my normal running range and I haven't snapped one before.

I do like the shelducks, we're lucky enough to have large numbers of breeding pairs on our river.

Swiftless still.
