Talking of spring and different patches. Visiting the parents in Devon, I'm so jealous every time I come. Won't list everything, but LTTs, GSW and what looked like courting behaviour from blackbirds.

Just reminds me of the jealously every time I see a dipper spot. Although they have a fast moving stream in their garden, probably a little too small for dipperd

Dippers can be seen in small streams, Becks or culverts. The water just needs to be pure / clean and generally fairly fast flowing

One day I'll see a dipper 😁

To cap it all I'm fairly certain I'm listening to a tawny owl right now. I'm scanning the trees where I think it is, but no joy so far

Lovely run yesterday, with yellowhammers singing, big flock of fieldfares, a couple of trees full to the brim with twittering linnets, and a loudly drumming GSW.

Lovely spots, we had lots of fieldfare last year, haven't seen any this year
