We didn't hear one on Wednesday DT, but there was a claim in the visitors book sightings at Brandon Marsh that someone had heard a Chiffchaff.........

Some birds overwinter and you could imagine a warm spell like we’re having now kickstarting some ‘chip chopping’ heart

A few more lapwing up here in the north pennines today, but no curlew or oystercatchers yet.

Oyks down in Norfolk (not surprisingly given they are further north)

Highlights of today were a purple sand and cute little common scooter (they are always scooters to me)

Sitting outside my back door in the sunshine eating my breakfast porridge... I just heard my first curlew of the year.

And a GSW drumming incredibly loudly.

Saw what I presume was robin courtship this morning. The one that must have been the male stood on the grass, puffed himself up and sang, whilst doing a little side-to-side swaying movement. He was being watched by two others, presumably female. I don’t think they looked terribly impressed.
