Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch

Wood warbler early May and I know the song well. Coincidentally we were at the local ww stronghold on Friday and I was thinking about them then

Yes, definitely early for wood warbler. Just thought it sort of fitted the description.

That looks very acceptable, DT!

Pair of garganey, 5 little egret & 3 black tailed godwit summer plumage in the neighbouring flooded fields at high tide this lunchtime.

WTF moment.......... Just looked out of my window, bear in mind its really foggy.... and wondered what on earth was in the courtyard .. some kind of round brown thing .. and there's another but darker brown.

Pheasants obviously once the fog swirled a bit! :)

Yesterday's run was one of yellow birds: incredibly yellow yellowhammers in the hedges, dozens of grey wags on the Don and reservoirs (Broomhead, More Hall, Rivelin, and Redmires were teeming with them), and a bit surprisingly goldfinch up on Stanage Edge.

Lol Chrisity! I like the idea though, fly south to find the birds rather than wait for to get here :-)

Project Goldfinch going well here, word seems to have got out that I now have niger and getting regular visits now. Moments ago there were four here feeding on the niger and sunflower hearts within five feet of where I'm sitting. Blue Tits not happy though at the extra mouths to feed and seemed to be doing their best to drive them off!
