ff, don't worry, goldfinches and blue tits will come to some sort of accommodation - they're both regulars on our feeders here and don't seem bothered by each other.

Amusement rather than worry J2R. The Blue Tits don't seem to bother about any of the other long term visitors but their beaks were definitely out of joint this morning at the four new arrivals and they were doing their best little bovver boy act this morning to let the Goldfinches know that strangers weren't welcome, not that the Goldfinches were paying much attention :-)

ff, no sign of ring ouzels although was keeping an eye out for them as I’d heard they were around.

Did get some hares in full white livery later on though :-)

A proper Peakland treat is a white hare. I remember being up on Slippery Stones with my kid brother years (decades actually!) ago when suddenly what we thought were residual bits of old snow became hare; a dozen or so :)

Snap. Surprised at the amount of ice/snow left up above Derwent given it was sunny and probably into double figures.

New highest count for Goldfinches on my feeders this morning. Seven together at one point. Such beautiful little birds.

I've regularly got 7 or 8 species at the same time at the moment and at least 11 on a regular basis which is great to see and a marked increase on previous years.
