3 herons nests on the Tocil Pools, 5 minutes stroll from my office š route takes me through wildlife/woodland trust woods alive with birdsong. Work walking breaks are a joy at the moment š Spotted a Muntjac yesterday too š

I found a butterfly in the greenhouse today, a Speckled Wood. I donāt know if it had been hibernating in there or had just flown in.
I donāt recall seeing one of those in my garden before and itās the first butterfly Iāve seen in the garden this year.

My earliest ever swallow was on St Patrick's day (17th March for you across the Irish Sea š) but not this year. I can't imagine any arriving for a good couple of weeks yet.

Five Chiffs, two Willows, two Blackcaps and one Cettis singing along my route this a.m Swallows usually arrive here in South East Wales before the end of March--already seen before then this year already and Sand Martins checking out nest holes locally. Yes flanker, it must have been a Blackcap!

Went across to the Res looking for some of the Martins and Swallows that have been moving through in the last 48 hours and though that search proved unfruitful I did pick-up the consolation of seeing the Black Necked Grebe that appeared during this morning. A new one for me.
