Two male bullfinch. Definitely a first for new ‘patch’ and a good example of knowing the jizz - I saw a flash of orangey-salmony pink and thought nuthatch at first. But then thought they’re way too chunky for nuthatch and not sat right at all

Four Bullfinches nipping the early hawthorn buds (as usual) in my garden. A group of ten Mistle Thrushes overhead just after sunrise. Cettis briefly singing again along nearby trail while running.

We have some overgrown damp thickety areas on my new patch / dog walk. Classic gropper country I reckon. I’m looking forward to spring!

No dippers on today’s walk. Very rare. We did get a few LTT mind and the local mistle thrush choir was in great voice
