Still not hearing willow warblers local to me here (around Norwich), which is surprising. Heard a good few in Suffolk at the weekend, though. Incidentally, although I'm normally an at-one-with-nature sort of guy, I developed a marked aversion to pheasants over the weekend as a result of being woken multiple times in the early morning by one squawking outside the bedroom window of the place I was staying. A bird better eaten than heard, I think.

We are currently at Brandon Marsh in Warwickshire. Sightings today include Willow, Reed and Cetti's warbler. Little Ringed Plover and a Yellow Wagtail. A cuckoo has been cuckooing in the distance 😀

We've also seen a tree creeper building its nest 😀

Just got really excited by what I thought were greenfinches on my feeders, then realised the male had a black head. Fairly certain were siskin, as I had a while to look at them and ID. Very pleased 😀

Ventured a litte further when I was in Boston and saw Brent geese there plus eiders and mergansers, as well as some birds we don't get over here, mockingbirds, red winged blackbirds, lark bunting and a few little brown things that I have photos of but haven't identified yet.

Yes, Boston, Mass. They also had a marathon this week. :) Saw lots of birds that there is no chance of seeing in Leicestershire anyway. I'm off to Lincs this Sunday with the local RSPB group, as it happens.

Whilst cleaning the birdbath I noticed some blood. Guess another sparrowhawk strike. We have spotted him flying across the garden.
