Lovely run in the sunshine along the Trent today, 8+ Chiffchaffs, 1 Blackcap and a Cetti's Warbler singing alongside the usual finches, tits and common birds. Disturbed a Little Egret wading at the edges, closest i've ever been to one i suspect as i was no more than 5 yards away from it (for younger readers, a yard is a bit like a metre).

Mr Logic
I've got a pigeon nest underneath my solar panels with a baby pigeon on it. It's quite hard to see because it's quite dark under the solar panels but I think there's only one. When I look out of the window I can see a little head bobbing around. Baby ducks and what not are really cute but my God baby pigeons are ugly.

Their mothers love them, Mr L :-)

(Actually pigeons seem to be the worst parents in the world. We have a pair who last year tried to nest in the holly tree outside our bedroom window. Nest-building consisted of throwing small sticks onto a branch and watching as said sticks fell to the ground!)

Had a brief damp and windy run this evening; curlew, lapwing, a couple of redshank, quite a few snipe and a big group of golden plover (maybe 50 or more). Everything except an oystercatcher! And I rescued a couple of toads off the road (literally a couple; he wasn't letting go!).

First Willow Warblers this morning--in two different locations; Blackcaps singing in many places along river valley here. Male Stonechat. Four Goldfinches in my garden.
Those toads are "at it" quite late aren't they jacdaw? All happens in late Feb and early March down here! Nice selection of waders.

Sat in the garden watching a couple of lesser black backed gulls performing what I presume is a very loud mating ritual
