Bagged a few more Wainwrights recently, could you update my total to 93 please NE. Also I've noticed that the Wainwright collection link now goes to the Everything collection page? Has the former been retired? Went to a talk at Rheged last weekend on a possible land art installation at the 'Gateway to the Lake District & Yorkshire Dales national parks' epona.org.uk |

Yes, retired. I was chatting to Ian about it and he found a few bugs and decided it was easier to just do away with it and rely on the Everything page. I think he was hoping nobody would notice! Snoot wrote:

Northern Exile Stan has a bit of tendonitis recently so his progress has slowed. He's on 49 now. Ruby is tearing through them though (too early to add her to the list as I don't want to completely fill it with dogs). She's on 28. We had a lovely trip together up Birkhouse Moor on Wednesday evening, although I struggled to keep up with her on the way back down to Glenridding from Red Tarn. |

These low temperatures are giving us wonderful visibility all over the Lakes. Wansfell circuit from Troutbeck this morning. (stopped for coffee at the Force 👍). All the views were stunning.

Most of my recent walking has been in and around the 'other' Borrowdale, and around Tebay and Orton. Still in Cumbria, but not Lakeland as such. That, and the fact that our dog was so poorly for so long meant that we haven't touched a Wainwright for ages. Maybe we'll take the plunge soon, so a bit of advice please ... Is there a good time of they year to head for The Nab? Or a time to avoid? I'm thinking of the deer that are in that area - don't want to disturb rutting season, or calfing (?) season if there is such a thing. We are currently between dogs, so that's not an issue at the moment, but no doubt we'll get another one later in the year. Any thoughts? |
