Does anyone have a favourite Lake District Charity? I have a sum of money that I'd like to donate and am wondering how to make best use of it. Suggestions welcome.

You can't go far wrong with them, and / or the Great North Air Ambulance?

The Brathay Trust and the Lakes Calvert Trust both do good work.

Thanks for the suggestions. I have donated to Keswick MRT and the air ambulance in the past, so I think on this occasion the Calvert Trust is looking good.

As an aside - my mate has a very interesting google tracker showing him travelling from south Lakes to Carlisle hospital on the air ambulance, just after he'd had a cardiac arrest - about 50miles in 20minutes. Luckily, he was home after a few days to show it off :-)
