It was 1.5 million last time, which was a drop of 300K on its previous sale price. There was discussion on here as to how much land might have been divested in the meantime A lottery win is required either way. Bet it needs a fair amount of investment even to keepmit running as a hostel |

Price last time was just for the hostel though wasn’t it? Met a load of DofE groups setting off from there for the day last time I went past. |

It is very hard to reach... It really requires a filantropist type with an interest in protecting nature. You can't do much with the hostel for the next 5 years and details of the lease aren't available. I suspect an extension has to be offered, which could mean you are "lumbered" with a property you have to keep up but cannot use and doesn't generate income.

Strange really , as a package it's much more attractive with the land. Who wouldn't want to own a chunk of Great Calva? 🙂 Jonathan Bland owns it right now doesn't he? |

I think the 1.5 million I quoted from the news and star was for Skiddaw House alone; allegedly they are looking for 10 million.
