Good luck HB. I’m not thinking about any sort of travel ‘til we can travel, if that makes sense

Perfect sense DT. The hills will still be there in 2022 or 2023... in fact they will still be there long after I'm gone.

Except that by the time we can travel in the UK there'll be nothing left to book - there's very little on the big booking sites now -
I think family hol will be September, hopefully after kids are back at school

(I'd like some sort of family hol for my menfolk, who have been working throughout and not from home)

Hardly surprising with the lack of certainty. Very challenging time for the entire industry.

I’ve gambled even earlier and booked a couple of cheap fully refundable nights at a lakes travelodge over the Easter weekend .... it’s looking more unlikely but we’ve nothing to loose by booking whilst there are cheap ish rooms available ....

We've booked a cottage week in the second half of April, so I'm hoping Devon and Cumbria will be in lower tiers by then to permit us to travel. Also still have one eye on The Lap in May.

forgot about The Lap - but I think it's too early for me this year, I'm so far behind on my mileage!
Still hoping Lakeland Trails Coniston marathon will happen in June, have booked a room for me +1 just in case

I'd pretty much bank on everything pretty much shut until may/June and then gradual reopening.
Optimistically....
Schools back in march.
Back to tier system (with everywhere in tier 3/4 to start with) by may-ish. Including regional travel restrictions like before Christmas
Possibly slow return to "normal" (tier 2) in some places by July/aug and then slowly into tier 1 by the autumn.
Full "normality" by spring 2022. With closed leisure centres/pubs/restraints/businesses etc that have gone under due to lack of support.
That's my best guess for those looking at booking stuff.
And I'd not be surprised if spikes caused setbacks as we go.
