Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch

It’s way too long since I’ve been to the district. Mixed memories of this area - positive from several runs round the old Four Lakeland passes route, and less positive from Lakeland 100 and a very upset stomach

Um - I didn't mean identifying it as Crummock Water, I think most of us will have got that :-) I just meant where was it taken FROM, ie. which fell. I still think Red Pike.

Good view of the Loweswater fells in your picture, I was chatting with SimonF about those gorgeous little fells just the other day.

Doh. Sorry Um, I just noticed that the URL actually had Red Pike in it. I get it now.

Thanks. Noticed he’s been there a couple of times recently. Close enough for both of us to run from home!

Sorry NE - it was just a clumsy way of saying you were right ....
Althoiugh when I read the first post above, I thought "but the link said 'from Red Pike' ", so I went back & checked before reading your next post.

I've only been up Red Pike once, back in 1988 ... had a lot of trouble with a very hungry horned sheep at Bleaberry Tarn who wanted our cheese sandwiches and wouldn't take no for an answer.

I got a bit freaked coming off Ted Pike to Red Tarn (?) last year. The path is very eroded and I was needing more than 2 points of contact 😂
