SC - I did that slmm too. It was baking. And unpleasant. Particularly Sunday. Descent of black coombe to finish took me ages and I got in laid down in the parking/camping field and promptly slept for 4hours... Think i had heat exhaustion. |

Shortcut Cam
Saturday the sun was out all day, Sunday there was cloud cover and the humidity was awful. I ran out of water and all the streams were dry. I slid down Black Coombe on my arse using the map as a sled. The stream behind the event centre at the finish was bliss.

I was on verge of entering this year’s event when Covid kicked-off. Haven’t done a Saunders since and was on verge of entering this year when Covid kicked off. Oh well, maybe next year.

It's going to continue even when campsites etc begin to open, I've been looking at getting away on my own for a few days (to recover from holidaying with mum) and sites are either saying "no tents" or 7-day bookings only, hook-up sites only and you must have your own portaloo etc. If when the 4th comes around and people just head out expecting to be able to find a site they haven't booked... |
