Raptors Claws are coming to town
Pupil: Velociraptor Class: F50
Running Positives: Highest ever age grade and Fetch standard. A smattering of age category prizes.
Negatives: Failed to achieve 70% age grade at half marathon. Remains reluctant to train in bad weather. Recalcitrant speedwork-dodger, inclined to rely too much on native wit and the ability to churn out many miles slowly. Grade: A-
Cycling Positives: Enthusiastic. Has shown herself to be suited by temperament to sit on the back of a tandem. Negatives: Lowest cycling mileage since 2011. Power output deteriorating. Would be well advised to drop cycling and take up dominoes instead if she didn't seem to enjoy it so much. Grade: C
Swimming
Only showed her nose in class a couple of times this year. Does not appear on attendance statistics as her name was removed from the register. Grade: U
Extracurricular activity Positives: Biggest ever weights on most of the main lifts. Has continued to climb regularly and reasonably well. Knitted some hats. Negatives: Squat-phobic. Over-reliance on knee bracing has become considerably worse since she saw Shauna do it in competition. Didn't finish knitting a single pair of socks all year. Grade: B+
Attendance: 100%
Effort Never looks as if she's trying as hard as she says she is. B
Citizenship 23 parkrun volunteer credits, two other race volunteer outings, sporadic foodbank donations, regular blood donations. Not a bad person but not as good as many others. Grade: B-
Summary: Velociraptor has done quite well this year considering the challenges she has faced elsewhere in her life. She may do even better if she were to listen to advice instead of insisting that she knows best.

My report is bit long for the thread so I've popped it in a blog
I feel Gordon and Lizzie's teachers have been a bit harsh on them!

Pupil: LazyDaisy
Class: F60
Running: Daisy has had a good year, her best yet in terms of exam percentages in her class. Quite how she achieved this is something of a mystery as she retains a determination to ignore the schemes of work that are available to help. However she has worked steadily and this has borne fruit. It was good to see her tackle some track training and for once she was prepared to listen to what the teachers were telling her. It is a great pity that her drive to win a school prize resulted in injury which has prevented her from completing the term's work.
Grade: A-
Cycling : Disappointing. Daisy refused to attempt any road-bike work at all, though dropping down a set to the 'hybrid bike' class in May meant she did at least achieve her target of 200+ miles for the year. However she has been very inconsistent in her application and her skills need a great deal more work. I recommend some remedial classes next term, and if she is to progress beyond popping to the shops on her bike she *must* get her road bike down from the garage roof again.
Grade: C
Swimming : Disappointing. Although Daisy re-joined the Open Water class in April she found all manner of excuses to bunk off and she will need to show far more commitment in the coming Spring. In the Pool class, she was hindered by closure of the school pool for several months but has been very dilatory in getting back to the task now a pool is available again. On the plus side, she does make more effort with her stroke now instead of wafting slowly along in a rather poor technical style, but she will need to try a lot harder and stick at it, to make any real progress.
Grade: D
Summary: All too often Daisy is guilty of magical thinking. Just wanting something to improve is not sufficient; she must apply herself consistently. Her running this year shows that consistency and application can pay off. Go for it Daisy, across all three disciplines!

JulesR
Pupil: JulesR Class: M55
Running
Positives: A late year half marathon in 1:42, avoided any further calf injuries since June. Negatives: Jules has been resting on his laurels & running on past memories. Paying an entry fee for an ultra doesn’t get you to the start line, let alone around 36miles
Grade: B-
Cycling
Positives: Got round the quite tough 3 day, 312 mile Tour of the Highlands in May. Started using Trainer Road app on turbo & working hard now. Negatives: Didn’t do much mileage after May as switched to swim & running targets Grade: B
Swimming
Positives: Swam 10k Hurly Burly in stupid fast 1hr 35 (cheaty tide helped). Fighting for top 10 in Fetch Swim league. Negatives: None really - biggest swim year ever Grade: A
Multisport: Failed to compete in a Tri for the first time in many years. Grade: ungraded
PE: Early season PT was stopped resulting in a dramatic fall in gym attendance. Home stretching & rehab has helped control his bad calf conduct.
Targets for 2018 were :
Swim: 10k open water swim - tick Bike: 3 day Tour of Highlands - tick Run: Speyside Way ultra - dns (calf)
Summary Jules has worked steadily on his individual subjects this year, but has failed to combine them to his full potential.
Overall grade: B+
Target for 2019 is: June half Ironman in Champagne region followed by lots of longer stuff anticipating a stiff mountain Ironman examination in 2020

BaronessBL
Pupil: BaronessBL Class: F50
Running: BBL needs to pay a bit more attention here. Announcing at the beginning of the year that she is setting a target of 500 miles for the year because of course she will run that is all very well but those miles don't run themselves. Last minute cramming to run 70 miles in the last two weeks of the year is unlikely to achieve the desired result. Grade C
Cycling: A cheap exercise bike from Argos is no substitute for proper cycling. On a positive note I'm pleased to report that, unlike some pupils this term, we have never had to send a letter home with BBL because we caught her round the back of (or indeed anywhere near) the bike shed. Grade E
Swimming: BBL appears to have either 'left her swimming things at home' or 'had athletes' foot' all year and therefore has not participated at all in this class.
Grade U
Citizenship: BBL has organised a couple of trail race outings this year which the whole class enjoyed and so we are prepared to overlook that she was caught handing out 'beer vouchers' at the end. Grade B
Summary: Unless BBL becomes more focussed next term I fully anticipate that once again she will be the one always larking about at the back of the pack....er....class.

Diogenes
Pupil: Diogenes
Class: M50
Running: A once promising student, Diogenes continues to disappoint in every aspect. His attendance record is unacceptable, and even when he does deign to grace us with his presence he puts in very little effort. He sets himself very low standards which he continually fails to meet.
Highlights: Turning up for the Farnham Pilgrim half marathon An unplanned 10 mile run before work (on a hot morning without breakfast or water)
He has not attended any other classes
Summary: Another disappointing year from sicknote, only made worse by the occasional reminder of his unorthodox talents.
Grade F
