I had today. Parkrun, pretty mediocre run-walk (which was ok as I've had a chest infection) then bam! Doon like a sack of tatties. Rocky bit of trail, caught my foot. Landed on my side and rolled onto my back. Aside from banging my head lightly on a rock, thought I'd largely got away with it.

Not so fast. When the scanner asked if I was hurt, I said I'd find out in a couple of hours. Grazed shoulder, bit uncomfortable, non-troubling lump on head. But my ribs. Caught the bottom lhs of the ribcage, and every time I move, I'm squealing. Ach weel. I'm administering analgesics - by which I mean booze - and anticipating an uncomfortable night.

I had an unscheduled rapid prostration on my run this morning. Grazed knee, elbow and thigh and some spectacular bruises on the way, I'm guessing.

57.5 Degrees of Pain
I've had a few episodes of falling over with the usual bruised knees, forearms, hands etc. I've once damaged my shoulder enough to need a steroid injection and physio rehab. But I've never tripped while using my phone to navigate the best way home on a run and tried to embed it in my eye...
Luckily there seems t be no permanent harm, just a lot of funny looks.

Went down hard this morning at the furthest point from home (of course). I seem to have managed to hit the floor with as many bits of my body as possible. Head torch (thankfully that hit the floor and not my nose), hands, elbows and knees. Left knee took the worst hit, a gash that looked a bit deep at the time, it was bleeding a fair bit. My Garmin has a bit of chobbling around the bezel, but the screen is fine. The incident detection thingy went off; I managed to cancel it. Had to run back because it was too cold to walk and there would have been no rescue at that time of the morning (I phoned anyway just in case, but no.) Back home now, with various swelling bits, have taped my knee shut and am going to ice both knees. Not looking forward to it all stiffening up, but at least nothing appears to be broken.

Off to see if I can find something to sand the rough edge on my Garmin now. Will sandpaper work on titanium I wonder?

I feel over a tree root on my run today about 1km in. My arm hurts.
