Yes to fruit bats / flying foxes. A lot bigger than I get in my garden at home ... A bit north of Arlie Beach, this was Cairns. They flew up from the town centre, past the hotel lounge. Every day, 40 - 60 mins worth.

We used to live in a big old house that provided shelter for lots of bats. They were pipistrelles, though, not flying foxes.

Not seen 'our' bats yet this year but given the f**king housing development uphill has completely disrupted their roosting places we may not see them at all
The developers were made to build a special 'hut' to act as a nursery replacement. They did so, but then built a whole load of extra houses around it. Bastards.
Sorry I realise this is meant to be a happy thread, but bats are a touchy subject for us.
