But you don't need to run PB's in championship races. How many times do they go full on for a time?

Depends what you want to call 'really' fast, doesn't Wilson Kipsang have something like 7 sub 2:05s? Admittedly I don't think anyone else has more than 3.

Championship races are frequently on tougher courses in tougher conditions than most of the spring/autumn city marathons.

Think of Beijing/Tokyo in August vs London in April.

M in La Santa at the moment and the Belgian bational team is here. Spotted the Borlee brothers on their track session this morning - oh to be able to run as fast and fluid. There is also a guy in an Australian kit but not worked out who he is - he has a man bun top knot thing!
