Good races, good coverage, rubbish course.

I presume much of Europe runs on XC courses much like that one today due to the climate? Otherwise no excuse for just turning out a flat course with a couple of artificial lumps.

Great running from the Brits, especially encouraging seeing Hawkins and Butchart pushing it at the front in the men's race ( with Vernon finishing strong ) and Steph Twell well up in the women's. race

Strong views from Steve Cram on the Kenyan ( Turkish ) 1,2 in both the men's and women's race, and in general the lax IAAF rules that allow Kenyans/Ethiopians/Eritrians to run for other countries whilst making no serious attempt to live there, or in anyway become Turkish ( or whatever ).

Agree with him fully on that, makes a bit of a mockery of European competitions.

In fact the recent US Footlocker schools XC had a more demanding course than the Europeans... at least they had a real hill.

Cram had a good point but he kept banging on. And can't agree with the point about people not bothering because others are significantly better than them.
