Is Lidls with fast chargers A Thing? Don't think there are any around here. I'd think a detour to Lidl and a look at the Aisle of Wonder whilst charging would be a worthwhile hour. Likewise a swing by Booths ;-)

However, there is work going on at one end of the Morrisons car park locally, quite substantial, and I wonder if this is part of their charging points project? I reckon that Falkirk already must be one of the most chargepointy places in the country.

I expect that’s because you’re right next to that electricity super-highway horsing power straight down from Beauly! ;)

Mine came with granny charger. Overnight, even if they were on 15p / kWh (i.e. not cheaper) with granny charger, you only do 2kW, so 10 hours is 20 kWh i.e. only £3. Errr, I don't think even my *stingiest* pals would balk at that! :-) G

And 20 kWh gives you, depending on your car's efficiency, 80-100 miles to get you around and about or back home?

I would just build in driving break? Even if you're 30 miles from home, just be prepared to sit in a cafe or go into a super market for an hour. Sure, it's different to a 3 minute top up in a petrol station, but just think of it as part of the hols!

And Fizz, I agree, the "premium" of paying e.g. even 50p per kWh at one of the fast chargers, is still only £30 for my car. It's 10 x more expensive than charging at home, but it's still less than petrol. And for that once or twice a year longer journey, who cares?! :-) G

Fizz :-)
Not sure if they’re A Thing, Dvorak, but when I was looking for fast chargers on my Pod Point app, there were quite a few at Lidls.

You get free, slower chargers with PodPoint at Sainsbury's and is it Tesco? A pal in running club says he uses trickle top up at those shops every few days and never pays to charge at home or anywhere else! :-) G

Dvorak, my daughter calls that the Aisle of Doom.... 🙂

I wonder how long before we find granny charger cables mixed in with the chainsaws and Paw Patrol books on there?

I've seen electric charging points at Costco (Sunbury) but don't know their specs...we're still in a hybrid, but I did spot them.
