Oh dear that is a very long day for C.
Mrs Axe must be shattered. It must be hard trying to work out the genuine from the just wanting attention.

OH only has his dad left but he stays a distance away but his two sisters are in the same village as him so he gets looked after rather well. He has a career come in too - twice a day I think. OH will go up there week after next as one of the sisters it off on holiday.

We have a date to intern dad’s ashes. Will be quite awkward as there will only be the 4 of us and myself and my sister don’t talk to one of the brothers . Never mind it will be a very short time together.

I hope C made it home at a reasonable time.

Deep breaths and keep reminding yourself why you're there LG. Hopefully they'll behave appropriately.

Bit of advice please. Mum has lost 6lb's in 10 days but not intentionally. She has booked a GP's appointment but it is about 2 weeks away and a telephone one. She's 91. Should she be pushing for an earlier appointment or just see how it goes? She is well in herself and eating as normal, although she did say about 2 weeks ago that her appetite wasn't as good as it had been.

I thought I'd start a thread, as lots of us have elderly folks that we worry about/care for.

Also: After someone dies, if their home insurance was only in their name, sadly the cover becomes void. But if the policy was in joint names, it will still cover the surviving policyholder (though the names on the policy will need to be updated).

Pension Credit. The rules are a bit complex but if your elderly relative has some sort of disability (in this case dementia/Alzheimer's) and go into a home, they may be able to claim pension credit. So if carers allowance stops, it seems pension credit can start. It can also be backdated.
