Good advice Duchess! Hadn't thought of that.

Calf is starting to feel a little more flexible today :)

Edinburgh has been run pretty well over the past few years, bag drop and pick up have been great, I usually get to the start about 20 minutes before the start, there are plenty of toilets so you should not have a problem unless you leave it to the very last minute.
My calf is feeling a bit better, it just feels like someone has kicked me really hard there. Did a slow 3k on Tuesday, no reaction so did a slightly faster 5k tonight so hopefully it will feel ok tomorrow. Not an ideal taper really and I missed my last long run because of fatigue with training and doing house renovation but until that point, my marathon training was the best its ever been so Im still hoping for a good race.
Hope everyone else has had a good training block and the first time marathoners have a great experience.

Pops in to say hi - I'm running the relay (Leg 3, 8 miles) with brother's girlfriend and a couple of friends, my husband and my brother are doing the full marathon. We're heading to Edinburgh parkrun too, if anyone is about?

Looking at long range weather forecasts an wishing I hadn't (although at least it's scheduled to dip back below 20 on Sunday).

Long range forecasts are generally pretty inaccurate, though, so hopefully things will be better on the day.

Yeah, I've gone from hoping it wouldn't be lashing wind and rain, to hoping that it cools down a bit!

It's a bloody balancing act! Now it has a high of 17 and light rain. It could go a couple of degrees cooler, but no extra rain please!

I don't think Edinburgh has any idea what the weather should be if today's anything to go by.

It was sunny an hour ago 🌞and now it's chucking it down! ☔️

It's a bit quiet on here. I'm just getting everything ready for the train journey up from Weston.

The weather still looks a bit too hot for my liking... Still, gives me a decent excuse for not getting a PB (or even a course record) that overlooks the fact that I'm a bit overweight :D

Hot and hilly for the 10k this morning! I don't know how but emf always seem to get something wrong. Today it was the toilets. There must have been less than 20 loos across the entire area. Def not enough for all the people who needed to wee!! Anyway, tough course in that heat and I'm now walking about Edinburgh with my medal, standard post race behaviour. Good luck tomorow, I really hope it cools down for you x
