Hi PO, I don't think the marathon put on any buses (or trains), but the start is early enough and far enough East that regularly-scheduled transport options would probably work fine.

How is everyone getting on?
I managed to clock 16 miles on Saturday. It totally knocked me out for the rest of the weekend, but was definitely good in terms of self belief.

I have kicked off the year with a knee injury in January and a virus in February, but apart from the missed training, I am really happy with how things are going. I should reach 200km this month and that will be the first time I have ever reached that this far out from marathon race day. I have a 10k, half marathon and a club 10-mile race in March so my times in those will give me an indication of where I am with my attempt to go under 3.30 for the first time.

So training was going well, mileage up to 70mpw and long runs up to 21miles, then last week I got thrombophlebitis (see thread in clinic) - no I'm on anti-coagulants so no running (or cycling) for 3 weeks. Given this enforced layoff until 5th April, should I give up on Edinburgh (and offer my place for transfer before Sunday's deadline) or aim to trot round with revised time goals?

An injury and having to withdraw from the race is horrible. I've been there too many times before. If any has made the sensible decision to do this for Edinburgh and would be willing to transfer their place to me for an appropriate fee then I'd appreciate it.

My first time running Edinburgh this year. can anyone tell me if race packs are posted out or if we have to register & pick up the day before? struggling to find anything on the EMF site.

Hi RBanksy, in the past race numbers have been posted out if you live in the UK, you have to pick up if you live further afield. I'm not aware of that having changed...
