Ouch....

Ive had various falls or mishaps, including falling at mile 19 in VLM one year, and actually its been a while since the last time anything like that happened. 2nd October 2011 in fact which was the roadsign incident

Sounds like a sensible plan though, if you have bruised things, a long run may just build up a problem. An easy day, bit of ice, feet up and you should hopefully be fine

No, not this year..don't have any more planned races before Edinburgh now unless i find a midweek 5k or a parkrun to sharpen up closer to mara day.
I'm just too lazy :-o

Sounds a tough wee month of May for you!!

I felt with Loch Leven 2weeks out i could'nt trust myself not to go all out and suffer in the marathon for my troubles as i couldn't be sure i'd recover fully.

Best of luck:)

'Ello. I got a last minute place in Edinburgh (skin of my teeth, just hours before the GFA entries closed!) when I realised I would have to pull out of VLM. I'm still ill and not running but most of the training was done. I just need to get well and claw back my fitness. Plenty time yet. Not done Edinburgh before and I'm a little disappointed I won't see any of the city, but I hear it's a good course.

Other than the fact it's only in Edinburgh for the first few miles , the course itself is fast a pretty much flat (ideal for the pb hunter).

The course takes in some different sights along with chickens (if they've not been caught yet;-)), seaside, rural roads and a power station. Not many big city marathons can say that!! ;-)
