Rae I keep getting reminders about mine but think it's a little too close contact!

Opticians have been jabbed as they were a priority. I had an appointment in the summer and it was fine. I think like NHS appointments that we should just get on with stuff which is allowed and safe on the basis that otherwise there will be huge backlogs

Mrs Jigs (Luverlylegs)
I have an optician appointment for next week, I was going to delay going but had that strange optical kaleidoscope episode the other week and also think my sight has deteriorated, plus glaucoma in the family so better to get checked.

I doubt opticians here have been jabbed yet, but I'm confident they'll be meticulous about hygiene and keeping distance where possible - with the fancy robot lens machine things they don't have to get all up in your face any more for the eye tests, at least.

The riskier time will probably be when I go back to collect the new specs and they have to do the fitting bit - I have quite a small head, so there's usually lots of trying on and heating and bending of the arms and trying on again.

My first newt of the day - I'm hoping it won't be the only one - is we are awaiting delivery of our new fridge. We used to have a lovely big one but had to replace it last October. We foolishly opted for a small one as there are only 2 of us. There just isn't enough space in it. I've had to store the weekly veg elsewhere as there is only room for the salad, and most of it is going soft (carrots and swede gone spongy, broccoli soft and yellow, cauliflower is limp) within 3 days and had to be thrown out and I hate the waste :( So we have moved the old new fridge up to Mr GM's shed and he can put beer and snacks in it when it is bbq weather again and we have a big fridge arriving before lunchtime today. I'm ridiculously excited about this.

Homeless Kodo
Hope the book works well for you EP.
Today’s newt is an accidental discovery. I shall be walking like John Wayne after a long day in the saddle...I’ve broken my bum muscles after doing too many newt movement patterns yesterday.

About This Thread

starblackheartstar The sixth running of Do a New Thing for Spring starblackheartstar

Lent has a special and specific meaning to Christians but has become an secular season of denial and hair shirting that serves no positve purpose. No chocolate, no booze, no -er - other stuff.

Why not treat the build up to Easter - as a chance to celebrate and embrace NEW THINGS - that's what spring is about after all.

The first few pages of the thread give more ideas.
