I saw a cactus in a shop window in Hay, but of course, all shops but food shops were closed...

I did however buy a Newt sheeps fleece in the pet food shop! So very random!

I have two comfy chairs outside by the pond, but in winter, they are cold on the bum, so I have taken to using my Jacob fleece from in front of the fire to sit on, with a blanket. Soon I will be allowed to have a friend round again outside, so now I have a second fleece. I have also created a small fire pit with a tripod to make coffee or tea on ☺️

I will lay it all out and photograph at the weekend. I also have a newt "egg spoon" a cast iron large spooned, long handled pan for frying eggs, making toast, that sort of thing...

I had to do a long drive today - with a legal reason not to 'stay local' - and when I had been driving for about 2 hours a message flashed up on the dashboard saying 'take a break'. My car has never told me to take a break before and I wonder if some new update was put into its system last time it was serviced to enable it to do that? I told my car that I would be the judge of whether I would take a break, but I was very nearly at my destination at the time!

I couldn't think of any newts today but I have survived as far as day 18 of Run the Sum for the first time so that will do :) I wore one of my new Hygge headbands.

My newts today aren’t very exciting...

* I filled in the Ness household census online.
* I booked an appointment for my Covid vaccinations.
* I cancelled the above appointments when I got a letter from my GP for appointments at my local surgery which is much easier to get to.

starblackheartstar The sixth running of Do a New Thing for Spring starblackheartstar

Lent has a special and specific meaning to Christians but has become an secular season of denial and hair shirting that serves no positve purpose. No chocolate, no booze, no -er - other stuff.

Why not treat the build up to Easter - as a chance to celebrate and embrace NEW THINGS - that's what spring is about after all.

The first few pages of the thread give more ideas.
