That is an edgeworthia...
Sparrowhawks are very clever and can take birds bigger than themselves, same with a Goshawk. He probably chased the pigeon purposefully against the door!
There is a youtube clip of a Goshawk flying into the pophole of a chicken coop and emerging seconds later with a chicken!!!

Poor pigeon but I bet the sparrow hawk was pleased with its dinner.
I did a newt route run tonight quite a nice change although the steps were a killer.
Oh and my other Newt T came today I’ll take a pic shortly

Sharkie
I looked out for new things out with Jess this morning. It was a good walk - four miles through the woods then out onto the cliff top fields and dells - but everything is just about to happen. So there are clumps of bluebell leaves everywhere but no bluebells yet. There is bright new, acid green moss over the fallen trees and the blackthorns are almost but not quite....
So no spring newts exactly for me.

And did I mention the Newt yoga bolster that arrived today? It is a smaller half bolster, for propping myself up ever more comfortably into restorative yoga poses.
