I just finished the most amazing Newt and am glowing and happy: I just had a 2 hour tutoring session with my niece to help her with her exam thesis. It was fabulous! Best Newt ever being able to help her, albeit from a distance. She is in the Netherlands.
I love teaching and mentoring anyway, but being able to help my niece and see her in such good spirits after several years of hardship is great!

She has had a horrid time with her gran, my mum, suddenly dying in 2018, then her mum, my sister, developing breast cancer and nearly dying, now finally getting better after 2 gruelling years of treatment, then last year CoVid, causing serious issues with her school work... Now she is back on track. So glad I am able to help! Felt so desperate not being there for them last year, because I wasn't allowed to go to the Netherlands.
As soon as restrictions permit us, we are going to have an aunt/niece break in London... Fingers crossed! Her exams are in May, hopefully she can come for a break here afterwards!

About This Thread

starblackheartstar The sixth running of Do a New Thing for Spring starblackheartstar

Lent has a special and specific meaning to Christians but has become an secular season of denial and hair shirting that serves no positve purpose. No chocolate, no booze, no -er - other stuff.

Why not treat the build up to Easter - as a chance to celebrate and embrace NEW THINGS - that's what spring is about after all.

The first few pages of the thread give more ideas.
