Some great newting today folks. I have a red cabbage in my veg box and now wondering if I want to pickle it.
I have a newt role. A friend called to ask if I’d be his second in command as discipline specific lead for sea kayaking in our club. This will get me out of another role on the training committee - the first meeting was torture so I’m very pleased.
I think my newt for yesterday is WA's new collar for Nell. I love the fact that we are all getting brightly coloured new stuff for running/cycling etc so including the 4-legged members of the family is great! It was a hard choice as Hann is really inspiring with all her newts as well and I loved the picture of the real-life newts.
My newt for yesterday was doing a MaprunF vitual orienteering course round town with a friend and we are now the top women in the results!!
My newt is to get the medal that I earned for doing a Christmas mile. My friend entered us both and the medals got sent to her when we'd done it, but then with lockdown I haven't seen her to collect it. She passed it onto another friend who has delivered it to me - 3 months after the event. Merry Christmas!
I stripped the bed and washed the bedding. Not a newt in itself, of course, as we wash the bedding regularly But I don't ever do it on Friday; it's a Monday job, but today I just fancied clean sheets at bedtime.
I lived in Oman for a few months a few years ago I used to have the most amazing schwarmas. My cousin found a schwarama shop in Newcastle so we had one today. Not quite to Oman standard but close enough. My newt for the day.
I’ve been doing roasted red cabbage it is so nice! Quite nice added shredded to a stir fry too.
Lent has a special and specific meaning to Christians but has become an secular season of denial and hair shirting that serves no positve purpose. No chocolate, no booze, no -er - other stuff.
Why not treat the build up to Easter - as a chance to celebrate and embrace NEW THINGS - that's what spring is about after all.
