I'm just following on BBC. Looks like some of the recent SNP holds are with increased majorities. I'm a bit surprised by that. As an incumbent governing party?

Anyone know when Edinburgh Central (Ruth Davidson's seat) is announced? I would love SNP to get that one.

Not sure what your options were Baz, I was "lucky' as I had an independent standing in my area so gave me an option other than independence referendum/no independence referendum. Not that it made any odds to results. Strong SNP win here. Is there a way of monitoring how the second batch of votes are shaping up?

unionist tactical voting seems to work in seats with an obvious choice (ed west), but will it fail in three way marginals (ed central, eastwood)? confident now that salmond and galloway are both toast on the list. only game in town is now whether the SNP are getting 63, 64, or 65 seats i reckon.

HT, the BBC had an update on second votes recently (in their live feed I think). Limited data but Alba doing badly, Greens fairly well.

Its looking like it will be broadly similar to 2016 with an Independence majority of MSPs but a non independence majority of votes
I view this as the worst outcome as it leaves is in no mans land as I doubt if the second referendum will be sought because its so tight.

I’m not sure Edinburgh West was tactical, to be honest. The winning candidate has been pretty effective at engaging the constituents on some specific local issues over the last year or so and has become a popular choice as a result.

SNP have got Edinburgh Central and Ayr but not Eastwood or Dumbarton so some but not all gains wanted.
Don't think list counting starts until Al constituencies in a region are through.

I have heard some list constituences have been counted.
Bad news for Alba, good news for the greens in Edin Central at labours expense

called it pretty much spot on in the end. overall (+3) for pro indy, and whatever you think of the constitution, for a governing party of 14 years taking some heavy recent political fire to still add a seat and votes is a damning indictment of the opposition, no matter how frantically they spin.
salmond was 13,000 away from a seat. he's utterly done. quite pleased my NE list vote for the treehuggers up here worked and also helped condemn willie rennie's lost deposits to even further irrelevance.
the arm wrestle goes on...
