[Minty goes to check weather forecast]

Urghh! 4 degrees, 40% showers, fairly windy. Aberdeen en mars. C'est normale! But I pity you hanging around at checkpoints in such weather. It's been 15 degrees and sunny here in Warwickshire today.

I was going to fly up by Flybe this Friday evening... alas no longer. Instead I'm taking a long road trip starting after work Thursday. My crocked old leg can't cope with such long journeys now - note how I'm getting the excuses in early :-)

Blimey K5 Gus!! I assume you mean miles per week?! That matches my count... in biscuits!

I have been practising my star jumps :-)
Even refused to go out for a curry and drinks on Friday night as never good with stomach issues and standing outside from early doors isn't my idea of a good combination ;-)

That's a shame no-one's taken over the FlyBe routes.

I prefer the BBC forecast, saying no rain.

My biscuit count is alas easily matching my mileage count.

Lip Gloss - I admire your restraint, but isanybrave worth foregoing a good Friday night curry? :-)

Logain Airways and Eastern Airways are taking over some flights, including Birmingham to Aberdeen, but not until next Monday.

Good luck K5 Gus, think you'll be amazed at how fast the route is. The key to it all, though, at any ability, is judging the optimum pace from the off.

Haha, no chance of me trying that G that has the potential, if not certainty, to end very messily

Might try for 8 m/m on way out and 7:45 on the way back, that would give 4:20
See what the weather's like and how I feel

Good luck all. The weather cannot be worse than last year.

I hope to be on the course at some point for a few minutes, keeping a safe 2m distance from all the heavy breathing and projectile sweat.
