Rained first thing as they set off but nothing too heavy and then stayed dry from about 11.00am and not too cold but then I was layerd up.

That’s kind of you LG to give up your Saturday to volunteer. I trust you got a bottle of beer at the end of the race & that you’ve now had a hot 🥘 meal.
All the best.

OH has drunk the beer , bath and carry out for me. Only giving a little back to help races go ahead. I have appreciated volunteers on many occasions

Hello all
Sorry about your race K5 Gus, hope this is a quick healing issue?
Thanks to Lip Gloss, SooWoo and JRitchie for your great marshalling efforts. The first person I encountered at the 1/4 point I enquired "Are you Lip Gloss?" - she shook her head - I think she thought I was speaking a foreign language, so then I just kept my head down Just about recognised JRitchie although you've grown a beard since I last saw you, very cool and rugged Think your magic worked on me as after I went past on way back I perked up a lot the last 12 miles. Helped having some (legal) drugs given to me at mile 18 also.
I quite liked the temperature out there, was down to shorts and t-shirt for the last 10 miles. Am I the only person to have applied sun cream on my bonnet in Aberdeen last Saturday?
Was with Alan Cormack and Paul the blind runner for a while early on. Paul was also staying at the Inn at the Park. Have to say I'm in awe of his achievement in flying from Heathrow to Aberdeen solo and completing the race. You assume it's flat but it's not without obstacles, narrow tracks, etc.
Wasn't the "victory lap" fun! Ha ha ha, I can laugh about it now. Poor marshalls and supporters getting it in the neck from us all
Great day out, all in all.

Ha ha, no problem M1nty! Enjoyed Saturday, not my fastest but was pleased with my time after loads of knee niggles for the last 6months (think I might have come 3rd in age group too😀). So pleased it wasn’t as cold and sleety as last year. Loved the atmosphere in the new hotel finish area, not sure I can say the same for the bonus lap, especially after attempting what I thought was a nice speedy finish for the last couple of miles (so used to this ultra being one of the most accurate distance-wise on my garmin... ended up with 0.8 miles extra I think!!)
