I don't care about the weather. It is one variable I have no control over. :)

FenlandRunner, your quite correct about the weather. If I remember correctly though, two or three runners dropped out last year with hypothermia.

I remember running past one poor chap who was shivering in a bus shelter. He was waiting to catch the bus back to Aberdeen because he was so cold & wet.

shanksi DNFd last year because of the weather. I can hack the weather for 7 hours, it gets a bit wearing after 27 hours. We're due a nice one guys!

My hands were numb by the time I finished. Was so glad to get into the car and get out my wet kit. Thank god for heated seats that really helped me warm up on the way home 😉.

I could have ended up just like that shivering bloke, but was lucky enough that when I decided to pull out of the race, the guys from half way were going past and gave me a lift back in a lovely warm car.

I've got a few layers of 'natural' insulation* and even walking generate heat, so for me to get cold it has got to be really arctic conditions ;-)

* Editor: maybe more than a few layers!

Shanksi I am now expecting you to arrive wearing a blue top hat, nothing less will do.

Checkpoint plans are coming along nicely, not that anyone's going to be hanging around for too long in them...

Too right, Duchess. Top up the bottles, grab some food and crack on. :)

Just been reading Karen's race briefing on facebook.

Where's the registration, is it just in a marquee or is there some building they use ? Just wondering that if it's heavy rain and or cold ( hopefully not ) is there somewhere in the park to stay out of the weather between registration and start time ? Given that we've been advised to park quite a bit away, then can't really go and sit in your car
