With the series won it's probably the right time to try someone new however if they lose the momentum is with the Aussies. What Woakes is doing there is even more of a mystery -why not Finn or Tremlett.

I imagine Tremmers will get a trip to Oz this winter, but I suspect he'll get the occasional game when we need his particularly brand of bouncy pace, as they'll be worried about whether he'll be able to stand up the riggers of five full tests.

Also interesting to notice that Dernbach seems to have been the only one of the Hamilton-Brown/Maynard/Dernbach trio to have escaped censure... Woakes did ok on a batsman's pitch; Kerrigan less so...

Hamilton-Brown will go the same way as Maynard if he doesn't sort himself out. I hope Panasar sorts himself out, we need a decent second spinner as back up for Swann. Kerrigan's international cricket obituary has already been written by the journos with four days of the match left. They are embarrassingly sympathetic and scathing at the same time.
