Ah WS, timely, i am now going to concede that getting them all out for 250 is unlikely Let's hope Ian Bell continues his fine form. |

Kerrigan's baptism of fire is probably better here than in Australia, they know they will take Monty now I guess. With the series won it's probably the right time to try someone new however if they lose the momentum is with the Aussies. What Woakes is doing there is even more of a mystery -why not Finn or Tremlett.

FInn, I think it means they must take FInn and Tremlett, but I would have given FInn another go, just make make sure, or even give us a better chnace to win 4-0. Never let up, they may take confidence from this. |

Finn not chosen I would think because the selectors know how he bowls. Ditto Tremmers. I imagine Tremmers will get a trip to Oz this winter, but I suspect he'll get the occasional game when we need his particularly brand of bouncy pace, as they'll be worried about whether he'll be able to stand up the riggers of five full tests.

I wouldn't play Woakes or Kerrigan in my local club team. If Kerrigan is the 3rd best spinner in England then heaven help us.......Briggs must be a bit miffed, but not as much as Monty.

kerrigan looked more nervous than a 16 year old about to be de-cherried after his school prom. if he doesn't take 8 for 38 in the second innings then he's toast. oh, and how many near-unplayable deliveries has michael clarke had in the ashes now? i make that at least 6... |

espncricinfo.com Interesting to note that Hamilton-Brown gets a mention again. Also interesting to notice that Dernbach seems to have been the only one of the Hamilton-Brown/Maynard/Dernbach trio to have escaped censure... Woakes did ok on a batsman's pitch; Kerrigan less so... |

It does appear Monty befriended the wrong person at Sussex. Hamilton-Brown will go the same way as Maynard if he doesn't sort himself out. I hope Panasar sorts himself out, we need a decent second spinner as back up for Swann. Kerrigan's international cricket obituary has already been written by the journos with four days of the match left. They are embarrassingly sympathetic and scathing at the same time. |

Hmm interesting thought from Gobi, a draw would be OK, as long as they go home without winning. Perhaps a delayed start and an interupted morning today, and Saturdays weather looks ominous too. |
