Nelly Aug 2013 11:34am, 7 Aug 2013 1,111 posts	0 Nelly Interesting development in the DRS/Hotspot saga this morning with an Aussie report claiming "that Hot Spot was failing to detect edges hitting bats because of batsmen applying silicone tape" telegraph.co.uk The Telegraph report then goes on to say the inventor of Hot Spot is apparently blaming the failure of Hot Spot to show nicks on "the fibreglass coating on some bats". If the system can not reliably identify edges due to tape and/or coatings on bats, that were allowed long before Hot Spot was invented, then the system is not fit for purpose and therefore should not IMO be relied upon within DRS so heavily.
