Staying out in the rain so there's some moisture in the pitch when Australia bat at around tea?

Big edge falls short of slip; good news for England, but it's a poor, poor first day pitch...

actually I went to 3 days of the 2009 series in Cardiff, really enjoyed it. But, instead of Old Trafford, Headingly, Durham, really, well maybe Durham.
I wonder if the idea is to make sure the first game is a draw, maximise revenue, maek sure it's even after a game or two, Lords is flat.......
it's why I bet on a drawn series......flat dry pitches, no good spinners.

I'm not sure Durham is a Test ground either; I found it bleak and there was absolutely nowhere to shelter had it have rained; fortunately, it didn't...

I did when I went, everyone stood under the pre-fab stands, and got wet!!!
Yes, a bit open, cold. Still I saw Broad get all those wickets, actually I saw days 2,3,5, ace.
