Root out off a ramp shot - wonder how many times that's happened? Equalled Cook's record of 33 test centuries. Still some way to go to catch Tendulkar though.

Joe Root won't catch Tendulkar's record of 51.
I doubt he'll catch Ponting on 41.
His tons/innings ratio is quite a bit lower than those two. He might catch Dravid (36)
He may have a chance of passing Tendulkar in terms of most runs in test cricket though. He will certainly surpass Cook to become all time England test run scorer - he needs about 200 runs or so to do so.
