I think the selection of Trott over Lyth gagged me off the most. The Aussies will be licking their lips in anticipation at the thought of getting stuck into Trott with a barrage of chin music and verbals and it's hardly a brave new direction; Lyth could be another Root.

Lyth has earned a slot based on performances with Yorkshire most definitely (and I'm a Lancashire member !)

Trott got another really good ball (not that I want Trott in the side; he's been brilliant for England, but should never have got back in after his 'stress-related condition'; as an ethnic Bear, I'd like to see him back at Warwickshire); Cook played at a ball so wide it would've missed another set of stumps.
Cook needs county cricket; if he can't play the W. Indies, goodness only knows how he'll cope with NZ or Aussie quicks.

Good afternoon Sarrers, afternoon everyone.
The match may be a bit dull at it's all a bit plodding, but I can't help be jealous of the four people I know who are having a week in the sun in Antigua watching it!

Next question. How long will Cook over delay the declaration by? Will he wait for 400, 500, 600? Aim to bat until tea tomorrow? Never can be too safe...

What makes you think he'll need to declare? Sooner or later a collapse will take care of it.

450 is their go to number.
He may push it to 470-480 since Greenidge and Haynes were West Indian....

I guess he wants all the runs he can get as even though he's not even in the side any more, just one stare from Curtly and England will collapse for old times sake.
