I’m trying to get a blog out on why our batting is an abomination before the Boxing Day test. But here are the highlights. Root over 1,000 more runs than the rest Only two batsman have got a century this calendar year. 11 times they have been bowled out for under 200. Take a long hard look at that before you start quibbling over this bowler or that. Also what are we up to? 11 drops to 5?

Dave A Dec 2021 6:24pm, 24 Dec 2021 23,231 posts	0 Dave A I’ve always wondered if there are any ego’s left over from 10 yrs ago, meaning Broad and Anderson, that might have made the England test set up less than appealing for newcomers. And that have made the atmosphere in the dressing room sour. KP touched on it in his book. I’m not sure if he told 100% the truth, but some of what he said must have had an element of truth or he’d be sued for slander. KP got the boot, Swan and Prior injured, which got rid of a few egos. And I do think to get to the stage where you are a stand out international performed you do have to have an ego of done sort.
