Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch

‘whilst there is Jimmy and home conditions there is hope’

Would these be the home conditions where we got skittled for 180 odd, batting as if we’d never seen a swinging Duke before and then a week later, eyeing up bowler friendly conditions, took all of 3 wickets on day 1 of a test.

Read a long article about India’s prep, and the changes/adjustments they have made to cope better with English conditions than their previous tour. Frankly they’ve looked more at ‘home’ than we have so far…..

I think this India team are very good indeed have all bases covered, not the 80s WI, won't get there either, Holding, Roberts, Marshall, Garner, Haynes, Greenigde, Richards, Lloyd, oh no, not on your Nelly, they may well dominate though. The early 80s England team are/were better than this mob.

The current Eng team have almost no batting bases covered once you take Root out and very soon, Broad and Anderson, our best bowler will be Robinson who has 3 tests under his misguided twitter belt.

You never know but a Phoenix may well rise from the flames in the form of Crawley, Lawrence, Hameed, Pope, Robinson, Leech plus a.n.others but it looks a long way off.

Our batting line is a shambles and has been to a greater or lesser extent over the last 2 years at least. They are bad on any pitch in any conditions.

I would still give the new cherry to Jimmy in England over any other world bowler. Our bowling unit has kept us competitive over that time.

I can totally see it 3-0 but one day does not a bad bowling attack make.
