Back in the day it was not uncommon for players to finish a test match, drive 200 miles and turn out for their counties the next day. Madness. Players were ground into dust. We’re still enjoying Broad and Anderson late in their 30s because of central contracts. Pre central contract they’d have both retired, broken, 5 years ago. Possibly scope to let batsmen get their eye in at County level more frequently though.

No more exciting than normal T20 though so I still don't see the point. They could have thrown the money at a womens Blast running alongside the mens and shown it on the BBC.
