Not having Sky I'm stuck with BBC if I want to watch it, I'm getting a bit irked by being told every two minutes what an incredible atmosphere there is and how the crowd are really getting behind 'their' team, as well as cutting away to over-excited presenters talking to random folk from the crowd at the expense of following the game - as flanker mentions above, they even managed to miss a wicket that way last night. OtG's point above is valid too, it shouldn't be an issue for people who've watched the game for decades to work out the match situation at any point.

I guess the thing here is.... team A needed 10 runs. Didn't get them. Team B needed 3 wickets. Didn't get them. How is a new fan supposed to fathom that from the on screen presentation?

Gareth Southgate Badger was my favourite Harry Hill thing, maybe Stouffer.

Yes, the inane babble was a bit trite but Vaughan,.Tuffers and Guha do that all the time anyway and have upped it a level. Missing a wicket was awful and yep cutting to some youth presenter to tell me it's great is annoying,.but I stl watched most of it!

Is anyone else still converting the run chase to runs per over?

I didn't watch last night's offering on Sky or BBC. I took mini Nico to rugby training and ran round the park in a torrential rain storm. No graphics, no shite DJs, no target audience, no gimmicks, no nowt. Just me and the rain. it was ace.

On returning home and drying out, I tried to find the results for the "traditional" 50 over cup matched that were also played yesterday. Very tricky to find on BBC Sport web page, had to skip past at least a hundred pages of The Hundred.

Runs per ball is easier, but for some reason I am still working out what it is in runs per (6 ball) over as well!

I abandoned the bbc for sky half way through the first women's game. Much better.
Have to say I've been pleasantly surprised. I don't think it's any more gimmicky than the ipl etc, and I recogiim in a minority of almostv1 but I like the graphics - in second innings runs required count down on left and balls left on right. If the column on left is lower than the column on right then batters are ahead of the required rate, if right hand balls column is lower then they're behind the rate.
If, when t20 emerged, you'd shown me t20 and hundred and asked which I preferred then I think I'd have said hundred - much to my surprise I think the 5/10 ball system works. However, given how established t20 is now, I still think the hundred is unnecessary.
I wanted to hare the hundred, and am a little disappointed that I'm enjoying it!
