I was 7. I only became ‘cricket aware’ in 1981, 6 years later.

My first cricket awareness was the Botham “leg over test”.

First live cricket match was Hampshire Surrey at May’s bounty, Basingstoke in 1992.

An amazing line up as a kid with David Gower, Malcolm Marshall, Shaun Udal, Graham Thorpe, Ali Brown, and the Bicknell brothers. And er... Mark Nicholas...

1973 for me....I was 9 and handed a bat and could whack a ball...Uncle Arthur used to send me his old monthly cricket magazines, and gave me a bat! A Peter May endorsed one....

Used to head off to Grace Rd for final couple of hours of championship play after school as a teenager in the mid-70s. No longer got it but I got David Gower's autograph on a scorecard when he was an unknown 2nd XI player :)

My grandad had a good chat with Courtney Walsh in the bookies at the Abergavenny ground. He only told us when he saw him bowling later in the day.

Also Viv Richards was playing that day. Happy days... Also a young Robert Croft and Hugh Morris

Reminds me of a time we were watching a question of sport. What happens next and it’s lee Trevino in a green side bunker

My grandad says he chips it straight in the hole. We all laughed.

They play the clip and Trevino chips the ball straight in the hole.

My dad says how on earth did you know that. Grandad says see that guy standing behind the bunker. That was me.
