Cork's hattrick against West Indies in 1995. Watched it in a pub in the Lake District. It was pissing down. I was the only person in the pub who was even remotely excited.

Dean Jones’ passing is desperately sad news. And 59 is no age

Sad indeed....

I think mine was 2005....Jones' catch off of Harmison when it looked like it was lost...the 2019 worldie was a great day, all day.

Maybe Harmison hitting Ponting, Hayden, Langer again 2005.

Maybe Gower's first ball ever v Pakistan

Maybe Kapil Dev's 4 sixes to save the follow on

Maybe John Arlott pissed up on telly the day he retired :-)

Anyone watching the Bob Willis Trophy Final? Pretty cold and windy for a game of cricket. If it's a draw (which seems likely), the winner will be based on first innings scores.

Ashes, 1st day, Edgbaston 1997. Watching on the telly, Australia 54 for 8. Dancing around my living room shouting at the telly (I was on my own). One of dear old Geoffrey's finest interviews on the news at 1. "If I were Australian, I'd be pretty fed up...(pause)... but I'm English and I'm cock a hoop".

Nasser gets big score. 1-0 in the series. Hope followed by the inevitable.

Most of 2005 but that electric first session (again) with Harmison steaming in that has already been referenced.

stuart little
most of 2005 is right up there, as is Atherton's 185* as I've a soft spot for attritional test cricket.

However watching last years WC win with my son getting excited by cricket for the first time is the clear winner for me :)

57.5 Degrees of Pain
I took a ferry to Sweden with the family on the Saturday morning of Headingly 1981, England on 7/0 in reply to 401. Ashes fever had not gripped the Scandis so I finally heard I'd missed all the fun when we stopped in Stockport en route home with an sunt and uncle.

So my great memory is doing the scoring for the Club 2nd XI from the bar with a couple of mates and an underage pint, watching ITB take 5-1 in the next test at Edgbaston.

1983 World Cup was another highlight, same bar, same crappy TV and great joy from my Indian mates.

My highlight was listening to Headingly 1981 while walking up Pen-y-Fan in the Brecon Beacons with a school group on a summer trip. The signal was intermittent and most of what I could hear was static and crowd noise. Unforgettable.
