Possible: miss follow on target, Pakistan enforce, usual top order fail. Of these, Pakistan enforcing is the most unlikely.....

BTW, this batting outside your crease to reduce the likelihood of LBW is a piece of bullshit, there is DRS FFS. The idea of batting outside your crease is to make the umpire think twice about it, well you can review it now, so that can't work as well.
If you are batting outside you crease you are just trying to put off the bowler.
I watched the Stokes dismissal a few more times, Stokes played it badly, really badly, he was wandering up the wicket, good ball no doubt.

But... by standing further forward, the length of delivery that would go on to hit the stumps becomes more like a half volley than a good length delivery.

Buttler has scored 1 run in 45 minutes
The BBC Text has described his technique variously as "no foot movement", "pokes tentatively forward" and "half hearted defensive shot".
Just a matter of time me thinks?

By standing that far out of his crease AND walking towards the bowler, Stokes turned a 79mph trundler into Shoaib Akhtar and couldn't react when the ball moved ever so slightly off straight

fetch, that's what I meant, the reason to do it is to make the bowler adjust his length, but you STILL have to bat properly. My point was, as they say on the politics thread, is the TMS guys are banging on about LBW, which is nonsense given you can review any likely LBW shout.

Sorry Wriggers, I'm not listening to TMS. I'm just remembering our wicket keeper at the mighty Farley Hill CC batting outside his crease. And I do think it has a bearing on LBW too. A hit on the pads from a good length ball when you're outside your crease has a greater chance of going over the top. Am I missing something?
