Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch

On the plus side I enjoyed watching for an hour from 5.40am seeing Morgan creaming it all over the place ably supported by Joss Buttler.

I do think that England need to drop players who are out of form and bring in ones who have displayed some. Cook for Hales, Root for Tredders, Rankin for Broad?

So Giles summed up the failure to win the 2nd ODI with the phrase 'we need to back our skills', a nonsense which reflects the bland nothingness of the team at present. What does that actually mean? Have more confidence in our ability? Learn to execute plans more readily? Stay calm when the pressure builds at the end of a tight match? Be more tactically astute? Okay, he may be playing the 'bland comments to media role' but I just hope he conveys his ideas to the players with more clarity.

Though I suppose 'back our skills' could be a reference to spot betting ;-)

Cook's press chat today after another defeat was interesting. He's already referred to being unable to change things on the field and today mentioned about things needing to change in English cricket after the last few months. By this he surely means the test captaincy as well as the ODI captaincy and I think he might relinquish both -or be relieved of both.

Cook isn't a modern 1 day player. The way to go is to start the day with to swashbuckling type batsmen. If you prefer to be a little more conservative go with one orthodox batsmen - Bell and a blitzkrieg batsmen who will look to take the leather off the ball at any opportunity ... Hales is a good call I believe he's playing in the Big Bang too ...

Yes, worrying about Cook. He doesn;t seem to have a feel for the job; and a bit like a football manager once your credibility with the dressing room is gone there is no recovery. So 2 more ODI's and is it 2 T20's to avoid the complete and utter tour whitewash.

As Selvey said in the Granuiad a while back 'they were far from the worst Touring party to leave these shoes, but may well be the worst to return to them....'

(expect half the original party seem to be home already for various reasons.....)

Well, I am now lost for words, to not get a win from 244-9 was pretty bad, yesterday was not much better. They do seem to lack something right now, Morgan is playing really well, but we needed another 40 runs or even more, just as we get there, we blow it.

However, Aussie fielded brilliantly. When youa re up you are up and when you are down you are down.

England need a break, as Aussie got at the end of last summer.

Cook I would think is best not as captain, who takes over though, bookies have Broad, last fats bowler to captain England. Willis. He was crap at it, but he always was inward looking.
