How do you get a thigh high full toss to mid off. You strong arm it over straight midwicket, regardless of line

Tried to baseball style hit it straight.
My son wanted to change the channel as he was bored after 5 overs. He did well to be fair

I've got it on, but it isn't really holding my attention

It would probably make more sense if they just played baseball.

Quite. I like baseball, love cricket but don’t see the point in T10. Similarly I love rugby and American football and really don’t see the point of rugby league. But that’s probably a different argument for a different day.

Agree on rugby league.
Test cricket this week wonder if Silverback’s top order of Rory/Sibbers/Regatta will offer some protection to Root at 4 and the biffers.
Oddly and unexpectedly I feel a sliver of optimism: Rory and Regatta seemed to be getting it in the Ashes, and Sibbers has really kicked the door down with his record last year.

NZ looks a decent test. I expect it to be well fought. Agree that sorting the top order with proper batters and also blooding Pope at 6 seems right. Bairstow gets bowled way too often for a half decent player. Young Sibley appears to bat time very well. Who knew that was important!?

I like baseball too. Stems from working in Chicago late 90s, my manager there took me aside and asked if I liked cricket and could I explain the game to him. SO I taught him to bowl and he taught me to pitch (He could bowl leg spin but I could not get the hang of a change up)

I only have the bandwidth to follow one American hugely elongated complicated sport with 100s of breaks, and I’m afraid it’s Gridiron not baseball.
However I did get a VHS video as a kid ‘100 Great Sporting Punch Ups’. The baseball ones were the best on the video, I particularly like the way both benches would empty as they all charged towards the centre to join in. Much better than Ice Hockey fights.....

Baseball has some odd etiquette. Over celebrating often results in the pitcher the throwing the ball at the batters head at some point in the future.
