Sorry, my answer was wrong - me being stupid and tired.
We play *home* ashes series every 4 years. And *away* ashes series are also every 4 years.
Thus there is 18months between a home ashes series and an away series, and then 2.5years from the away series to the next home one.
That's why we should be playing away next winter (2014/2015), but it's been brought forward because of the world cup.

That's what I was trying to say originally, but was getting the maths tied up in my addled brain today.

I love the fact we only have to wait a matter of weeks before we go through it all again!

85 days to go......
That's until the proper cricket. None of this hit and giggle one-day stuff
What I want to know is why all the Women's Ashes stuff is being played in the SE. Headingley didn't get a test match for the men's series, why not hold a women's game there instead? Would be interesting to watch some Women's international cricket, but, like everything else it seems like there's a SE bias to where the games are held.

I was surprised to see 2 consecutive matches at Hove, but I guess it also depends on which grounds are available around all the county games going on....

Saw some of the Women's T20 on Sky last night. Sarah Taylor is a proper player.
